COVID-19 Updates

Please note: As COVID-19 positive cases continue to exist in our community, our facility has implemented a COVID-19 unit for positive residents to support our local hospital and community.  As a result of admitting positive residents, an increase in the number of active cases in our facility is possible.  We still have a separate, dedicated isolation unit for new admissions /readmissions who are not active COVID-19 positive. We continue to fight this COVID-19 pandemic by immunizing our staff and residents with the COVID-19 vaccine, following the CDC and local health department guidelines, and partnership with our local hospital and community.  We have sufficient PPE for our staff.

On 1/3/2022, Scottish Pines reported that we a new employee receive a positive COVID-19 test result.  Employee received PCR test results on 1/5/2022 which show negative results for COVID-19. Another antigen test was completed and result also negative.  Two negative test results received, and employee status will change from COVID-19 positive to COVID-19 negative.  We currently have nine active COVID-19 case among residents and staff within our facility.  Of the total active cases, two residents are isolating on our designated unit and seven employees are isolating at their home. We will promptly update this message if there is any change.  Thank you for entrusting your loved ones with our care.

On 12/14/2021, Scottish Pines reported that we had a resident receive a positive COVID-19 test result.  As reported, resident was discharged and not being treated at our facility.  Resident received PCR test results on 12/15/2021 which show negative results for COVID-19. Following guidelines from the State mandate regarding testing for COVID-19, we continue to test all staff on a weekly basis.  On 3/29/2021, we began week thirty-three of facility wide testing and we will update our website with any changes throughout the week.  We currently have no active COVID-19 case(s) among residents and staff within our facility.  We are now offering indoor visitation, which can be scheduled through our facility receptionist.  We continue to monitor our residents and staff closely for signs and symptoms of COVID-19 and will complete additional testing as needed. We continue to ensure that the updated guidance from NC DHHS, CDC and Scotland County Health Department are implemented timely.  With updated guidance regarding vaccination and visitation we would like to also encourage our resident family members and friends to get vaccinated as well, please reach out to you your local Health Department to get more information on the vaccination or to schedule. We continue to screen residents, staff, and visitors for symptoms of Covid-19. Following guidelines from the State mandate regarding testing for COVID-19, we continue to test all residents and staff on a weekly basis.  On 10/26/2020 we began week eleven of facility wide testing and a majority of our weekly testing results have been received.  Employees who have tested positive are not working and are isolating at their home.  We have twenty active COVID-19 cases among residents and staff within our facility.  Of the total active cases, seven residents have been discharged, thirteen residents remain in our isolation unit and two employees are isolating at their home.  If your loved one tested positive during our weekly testing, you have already been personally notified by one of our facility staff members.  Thank you for entrusting your loved ones with our care.

Following guidelines from the State mandate regarding testing for COVID-19, we are now testing all resident and staff on a weekly basis.  Employees who have tested positive are not working and are isolating at their home.  There are currently ten active COVID-19 cases among residents and staff within our facility.  If your loved one tested positive you have already been personally notified by one of our facility staff members.  Residents who tested positive have been moved to our isolation unit and staff are caring for them using appropriate PPE precautions.  We have adequate PPE for staff and continue to follow the guidance of our local health department.  Thank you for entrusting your loved ones in our care.

Effective 8/18/2020, we will begin weekly testing for COVID-19 for all residents and staff per the State mandate.  We have already begin testing this week and we will continue to test weekly until the State mandate is lifted.  A member of our staff will notify you personally if we receive a positive test result for your loved one.  We continue to follow CDC guidelines and have a separate isolation unit ready for any residents who test positive to protect the general population of residents within our facility.  Currently, we have seven active COVID-19 cases amongst residents and staff within our facility.  All positive residents remain on a designated isolation unit and positive staff members continue to be isolated at their home.  We have adequate PPE for staff and continue to follow the guidance of our local health department.  Thank you for entrusting your loved ones in our care.

On 8/14/2020, we had one additional resident to test positive for COVID-19 and we are currently monitoring three residents for respiratory symptoms.  We continue to closely monitor all other residents for symptoms and have a dedicated isolation unit for symptomatic residents.  Currently, there are eleven active COVID-19 cases in our facility, other positive cases have recently resolved or have been discharged from the facility.  If your loved one tested positive you have already been personally notified by one of our facility staff members.  We have adequate PPE for staff and continue to follow the guidance of our local health department.  We are thankful for all of your support and for allowing us to care for your loved ones.

As previously reported, we completed 100% state-mandated COVID-19 testing for our residents and staff on 7/30/2020. We received some additional results yesterday, 8/9/20. We have received a total of 246 test results. Out of those results, there are 229 negatives, and only one additional resident identified all others were previously identified and are accounted for in the data table below. We had a total of five employees test positive and positive staff isolated at home and our facility will follow CDC guidelines for returning to work.  We have been closely monitoring residents for signs and symptoms while awaiting test results and have confirmed two more resident positive cases from in-house testing. We continue to follow CDC guidelines, and staff is wearing the required PPE.  Positive residents are isolating on our dedicated isolation unit, and positive staff continues to isolate at home. We completed 100% state-mandated COVID-19 testing for our residents and staff. We started receiving our test results yesterday, 8/7/20. We have received a total of 97 test results. Out of those results, there are 93 negatives, and only four positive residents identified all others were previously identified and are accounted for in the data table below. We have been closely monitoring residents for signs and symptoms while awaiting test results and have confirmed three more resident positive cases from in-house testing. We continue to follow CDC guidelines, and staff is wearing the required PPE.  Positive residents are isolating on our dedicated isolation unit, and positive staff continues to isolate at home. Although we are showing 16 confirmed cases, there are only six active COVID-19 cases in our facility and we are currently monitoring three residents for respiratory symptoms. A dedicated isolation unit is utilized for these active cases and all employees who have tested positive are not working and are isolating at home.
